Video Recording & Quality Settings
When recording locally, you can push video quality far beyond live streaming limits because your internet connection isn't a bottleneck.
Recording Format & Storage Path
Select Hybrid MP4 or MKV as your output format to prevent video corruption in the event of a system crash. Always record to a fast, dedicated SSD or hard drive.
Encoder & Rate Control Settings
In Advanced Output Mode, switch from CBR bitrate control to CQP or CRF for crisp, consistent image quality across all scenes.
- NVIDIA NVENC: Rate Control CQP, value set to 18–23
- x264 (CPU): CRF 18–22, preset set to veryfast or faster
- Keyframe Interval: 0 (Auto)
Verifying Recording Performance
After finishing a session, check the Stats window to confirm zero missed or dropped frames due to rendering lag. Easily convert MKV clips to MP4 via File → Remux Recordings.
